What Changed Recently?

ConnectAmerica.com, LLC agreed to settle Felix v. ConnectAmerica.com, LLC, Case No. GD-26-007931, a class action in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The court granted preliminary approval and appointed Kroll Settlement Administration as the administrator, which sends notice by email, or by postcard where no email address is known, to people identified in the calling records.

The lawsuit alleged that ConnectAmerica violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by placing calls to cell phones using an artificial or prerecorded voice without prior consent. ConnectAmerica denies the allegations and any liability, and the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing. The court has not decided who is right.

The case began on April 1, 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. After a mediation on June 30, 2026, the parties reached an agreement, and the plaintiff refiled the case in the Allegheny County court on August 7, 2026 to carry out the settlement there.

Who Qualifies?

The settlement class covers individuals in the United States who did not provide their telephone number to ConnectAmerica, and to whom ConnectAmerica delivered, or caused to be delivered, at least one prerecorded message on their cell phone between April 1, 2021 and September 22, 2026. The settlement says there are about 14,534 class members.

The class is built from calling records obtained in the case. People whose numbers appear in those records were sent a postcard or email notice. The notice says someone who did not receive one may still be in the class if their cell number appears in the records, and the administrator can check a number.

The class excludes ConnectAmerica, anyone who opts out, and the judges assigned to the case and their staff and families.

How Much Can You Get?

The notice estimates the payment at $275 per person, reduced by each claimant’s proportionate share of attorneys’ fees, costs, expenses and administration. That is an estimate, not a guaranteed amount. The $275 figure matches the $4,000,000 settlement cap divided among the roughly 14,534 class members.

ConnectAmerica’s total obligation, including payments, fees, costs, the service award and administration, cannot exceed $4,000,000. If approved claims would add up to more than the cap, every payment is reduced pro rata. Class counsel will ask the court for attorneys’ fees of up to $1,333,333.33 and costs of up to $30,000, plus a service award of up to $10,000 for the class representative; administration costs are capped at $75,000. The court decides the final amounts.

The fund is reversionary. Money left after approved claims and the other court-approved payments goes back to ConnectAmerica, so a low claim rate does not increase individual payments. Each class member may file one claim.

The settlement also includes a change in practice. Within 30 days of final approval, ConnectAmerica will stop using prerecorded messages to contact non-customers and will use the Reassigned Numbers Database, at its own cost.

What Proof or Notice ID Is Required?

The online claim form opens with a login that asks for the Class Member ID printed at the top of the email or postcard notice. The paper claim form asks for the same ID.
